Anne T Johnson of Sarasota passed away December 10, 2020 after a long illness. She was born to Elmer and Theresa Stryker in Seneca Falls, NY in 1952. She attended Wilson School of Nursing in Johnson City, NY and became a Registered Nurse. In 1975, she married Lt Colonel Glenn Johnson and together, raised two beautiful daughters.
Anne was a kind, caring, devoted, and loving mother. As a devout believer in Jesus Christ, she enjoyed studying God’s word with many Bible Study groups, and sang in several church choirs. She also taught a preschool age Sunday School class for many years. Having obtained nursing licenses in five states, her passion in the medical field was nephrology, specializing in kidney dialysis.
In 2008, Anne joined a medical team and traveled to Niger, Africa to inoculate over 4000 children for Meningitis. Without this vaccination, this disease often killed kids at a very young age.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, her two daughters: Cheryl Nowakowski and Laura Johnson, her sister Irene, brother Arthur, two grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
