Tom Barber was a believer in his Redeemer, good friend, father, grandfather, husband, brother, patriot, and soldier. Tom was respected and loved. He had a well spoken mind and a heart of gold. He was a man who served well in his many roles. We are all better for knowing him. It is sad that he was taken too soon for our sake. It is good that he now resides in the light of Christ. “I am the Light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” – Jn 8:12 “For what is man advantaged if he gain the whole world, yet lose his soul, or be cast away ?” – Lk 9:25 We miss you my friend. We rejoice in your heavenly reward. Mark D
So sorry for your loss . May all of you find peace with the fond memories you all shared together.
Love and prayers,,
Cousin Debbie
The Detrick and Barber families got so big and spread out over the country. I did not know your dad – wish I had – he sounds like a wonderful mentor. Your family must be very proud of him. I’m sure his Grandmaother Mildred and Grandfather Percy would have been proud as well. Mildred was my dad’s sister and I knew them and their children when they were young. When my dad and mom traveled to Florida they would always get together.
