RTSivretRetirement 251x300

Robert Tileston (R.T.) Sivret, loving Dad and Grampy, passed away at age 87 at his home in Tampa, Florida, on March 15, 2021.

Robert was born on Christmas Eve 1933 in Auburn, Massachusetts – the fourth of five children born to Tileston and Fabiola (Primeau) Sivret.  He graduated from the Worcester Boys’ Trade High School (Welding Program) in 1951, where he excelled in the classroom and on the sports field.  In 1952, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent 20 years as Weapons Mechanic and Crew Chief.  Robert served at several military bases throughout the U.S., as well as tours in Vietnam (390th TAC Fighter Sq.) and Libya.  He retired with the rank of Technical Sergeant from MacDill Air Force Base in 1972, having earned many accolades during his career.  He spent the next 20 years working for various oil companies in Tampa before becoming a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputy in 1992.

Robert had a passion for sports, playing on various teams throughout his youth and military service. He was a diehard fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Celtics.  He also enjoyed many hours on area golf courses after his retirement and was a fixture at the Tampa Bay Downs Golf Driving Range.   He loved telling dad jokes, crossword puzzles, reading, and researching USAF history. Robert’s sense of humor, sharp wit, and big heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Tileston and Fabiola Sivret, and his sister, Dorothy (Sivret) LaMonda.

He is survived by his siblings Rita LoRusso, Barbara Riendeau, and Kenneth Sivret, all of Massachusetts, several nieces and nephews, and their children.

Robert is also survived by the daughter from his second marriage, Kimberlee Sivret Roberts (Jody), and grandsons, Ethan and Jeremy Williams, all of Riverview, Florida; the children from his first marriage: sons Robert, Steve, and Lindsay Sivret; daughter Dara Richie and their children.

Services are scheduled for Friday, April 23 at Veteran’s Funeral Care, 830 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater, Florida.  Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m.  Interment with military honors follows the service at 2 p.m. at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Florida.  Please feel free to wear your favorite team sports shirt/jersey to the service as part of the celebration of Robert’s memory.
