Marian Charlotte Evans Blair

Marian Charlotte Evans Blair, 84, of Seminole, Florida, passed from this life to be with her Savior and God on February 12, 2021, at Suncoast Hospice after a brief hospitalization. She was born on May 11 in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone, to Sophia (Laszcz) and Albert Evans, Sr., who were both employed in the Zone. It was there that Marian attended Balboa First Baptist Church as a 10-yr-old and gave her life to Jesus. It was also at this church that she met her husband Everett Blair while he was stationed in the Canal Zone with the U.S. Army. Marian graduated from Balboa High School in 1954 and shortly thereafter left Panama to attend and graduate from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1958.

Everett and Marian married in Polo, Illinois, on September 20, 1958, and then lived in Rockford, Illinois, and Plainfield, Indiana, before retiring to Florida. They initially worked at D&D Missionary Homes in Florida and were active with The Gideons. Marian often reflected in her later years on her blessed life–in Panama; with Everett and his family; with their children and grandchildren; with their church families in Illinois, Indiana and Florida and with the many dear friends they made along the way and loved to visit.

Marian was preceded in death by Everett, her husband of 59 years, and by her only sibling, Albert Evans, Jr. She is survived by children Mike (& Dee) Blair and Sharon (& Jeff) Bowman; grandchildren Alec (& Misty) and Jennifer Blair, Graham, Jessie and Kate Bowman; plus, an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.

We are saddened by Marian’s departure from our lives, but rejoice that her faith has been made sight. No services are planned. Please direct any memoriam gifts to the support of San Blas Medical Mission (SBMM), c/o Vicki Middlekauff, 1555 Kingsley Ave., Suite 305, Orange Park, FL 32073.
