Gladys Jackie Eckenrode, 89, of St. Petersburg, went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2021. She was born on May 8, 1932 in Stokesbury, West Virginia. Her father was David Blankenbeckler and her mother was Maddie Campbell Blankenbeckler.
She had five brothers, Louis, Edwin, Emmit, Robert and Billy Joe; and three sisters, Beatrice, Betty and Jeanette. She is the last survivor of her immediate family. She has three daughters, Rhonda Godbey, Sylvia Welch (Glen) and Kim Whalen (Tim); three sons, Bruce Eckenrode, David Harryman (Shirley) and Paul Harryman (Laura). She 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Charles Godbey Jr.; second husband William Eckenrode and all of her brothers and sisters.
She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. She served the Lord all of her life and did her best to be a witness for Him everyday. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. She was kind, loving and generous. She was beautiful inside and out and will be greatly missed.
