Joseph “Joe” Marvin Straughn, age 61, born in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Betty Jean Stevens and Charles J. Straughn; and his brothers, Mark Robin and Steven Michael. He is survived by his niece, Bonney; sister, Karen Yvonne; nephew, Isaac; niece, Sara and his son Corey.
Joe graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida. Born with a clubbed hand and a fierce spirit, he overcame early in life by vigorously playing sports, earning many trophies for his accomplishments. In high school, he was a respected member of the wrestling team, widely known for his toughness and strength.
His humor, charisma and generous heart gained him many friends. He never met a stranger, enjoyed fishing, family cookouts, hunting, and sports. He was a faithful donor to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Joe will be truly missed.
