Karen Ann Pratt was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world much too early on December 24, 2021 at age 57.
She was born to Charles and Gerry Kirchner on November 17, 1964 and was a loving sister to Chris Kirchner and Laurie Cardoza (Jim and Alex). After graduating, Karen pursued her dreams of nursing where she spent 26 years as a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse. Her career was cut short when she developed a rare chronic pain disorder, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD).
Even through Karen’s chronic pain, her heart was filled with an abundance of love, pride, and joy for her family. Her devoted husband, Bobby Pratt, and her two daughters, Katie Schoenberg and Brittany Papendorf (Ryan), were the light of Karen’s life. She was also a caring stepmother to Jason Pratt (Diana).
Of all of Karen’s roles, “Grandma” was her favorite. She was the proud grandmother to Anna Grace Papendorf and step grandmother to Jazmine and Jackson Pratt.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Veterans Funeral Care, 830 N. Belcher Rd. Clearwater, FL 33765 with Tom Sanz, to officiate. In lieu of flowers, Karen’s family requests memorial contributions in her memory made to the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association (RSDS)https://rsds.org/.
I am saddened by the loss of Karen. My prayers and thoughts go with the entire family.

I came to know Karen over the past several years thru the CRPS community. She was one of the sweetest, kindest, most giving people I’ve ever had the joy of knowing. She would go out of her way to help someone who was suffering, despite being in constant pain herself. Karen just had that kind of sweet soul. I, along with so many others, will miss her greatly. I pray that Bobby, along with the rest of her beloved family, will take comfort in the knowledge that Karen is no longer suffering any pain, and that Karen’s memory will forever serve as a blessing…

I’m going to miss this special woman whom I never met in person but only communicated with because my husband also suffered with the same disease. I only knew her as a very sweet person who loved her family above all else. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Karen’s loved ones during this very difficult time. I will always remember her. Sorry for the loss of such a sweet person who always made us feel welcome and and had a smile that made you feel you were welcome in her life no matter how much pain she was going through. And to see the love between her and her husband Bobby was something that will always be remembered. RIP “ANGEL”
