Jack William Turnbull

TURNBULL, JACKIE WILLIAM “JACK, 89, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away Tuesday April 19th, 2022 in the early morning hours, most suddenly after heart complications. Jack was always ready with a smile and good humor and as he told folks, he never met a stranger. He will be sorely missed by all.

In 1966 Jack and Kay came to Florida from their native Cedar Rapids Iowa. Jack was a wizard with anything electrical and ran his own television and appliance repair business for many years in Clearwater. Jack and Kay lived in Largo, then in Hudson for a number of years until Kay passed in 2006 at age 71 after a 13-year battle with Alzheimer’s. They were married for 54 years. Jack was by her side through every day of the sickness only occasionally having anyone else care for her. At Kay’s passing Jack continued to live in Hudson.

A year or so later he met a new love, Lisa Garstka. She had been widowed from her husband Freddie the year before. When they met, the two knew that they were meant to be together and found not only companionship but love and so lived together for the next 16 years in Port Richey.

Jack is survived by Lisa Garstka, a stepson Dieter and wife Margaret. From his marriage to Kay, a daughter Grace Ann Keim, recently a widow of Billy Keim, two sons; Carl James Turnbull, wife Jeanie, David William Turnbull his former wife Dixie Turnbull, and current significant other Julie Binner, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and three on the way.

Jack will be cremated at the Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater Fl. His ashes will ultimately be interred at the family graveyard in Lincolnton Ga.
