We are sad to announce that on August 12,2022 we had to say goodbye to John “Jack” Ifft.
Jack joined the US Air Force in 1970 retiring in 1990 after 20 years of service. During those years he was stationed in Ohio, Korea, South Dakota, England, Montana, Alaska, and finally Florida where he retired. He was awarded the Achievement Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal as well as ribbons for short and long overseas tours, small arms expert marksmanship and a longevity service award ribbon.Jack married his high school sweetheart and had just celebrated 51 years together in March. They have 3 children.He was predeceased by his parents John “Kenny” Ifft & Esther Ifft (hull); and his parents-in-law Paul and Doris Saylor (Lehman)
He is survived by his wife Scherry Ifft (Saylor); his children John “Kenny” Ifft (Denise) Paula Ifft and Amy Ifft. His sisters Barbara Noll, Jan Lengel (Bill), Marsha Smith and Carole Flanagan. 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Numerous loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 2:30 pm at the Bay Pines National Cemetery located at 9500 Bay Pines Blvd.,St. Petersburg, Florida 33708. Arrangements entrusted to by Veterans Funeral Care.
