On May 24 2023 Louis J Mazzarini (69) of Odessa, Florida passed away surrounded by those that he held dear. He was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on August 21, 1953 to the late Louis and Ellen Mazzarini.
Lou excelled in sports at his Alma Matta, Canevin Catholic High School (Pittsburgh, PA), as a member of the basketball team, catcher for the baseball team and also demonstrated his leadership as captain of the football team. After graduating in 1972, Lou continued his commitment to serve, joining the US Navy, along with his twin brother Lee, and three close friends. He proudly served his country on a Mediterranean tour as a Naval Air Crewman and kept in touch with many of his Navy brothers up to his passing.
After his military service, Lou made his living as a Welder/Fabricator. He also had a great passion for training horses and found success as a Grade 3 Stakes Winner. Lou’s greatest success though, was the love he had for his family, both immediate and extended.
For over 30 years Lou shared his life with his beautiful wife Karin. Their courtship begin at the amusement park Kennywood and continued with their love for horse racing and trips to Biloxi, MS, which perfectly captured their fun personalities.
Already being a proud father of four daughters, one of the greatest honors in his life was to be promoted to Pap; he relished being a grandfather. He was known for having a huge heart and of course, a unique sense of style and delivery.
Lou loved having everyone together and a stranger but once, he regularly welcomed friends of his beloved girls and grandchildren to celebrate special events at the family home. His legacy will carry on forever for those that were lucky enough to receive his encouraging words. He will be remembered as generous, loyal, and brave by so many.
Lou is survived by his wife Karin. 4 daughters: Angela Bottorff (Bill), Maria Guerrero (Dan), Kaitlyn and Emily Mazzarini. Siblings: twin brother Lee, Christine, Paul (Sue) and the late Marc & Melinda. Grandchildren: Hunter, Ryder, Vayda & James (Mav). Dog: Max.

To the Mazzarini Family that I hold so close and dear to my heart.
I am so very heartbroken to hear of Lou (Dad) passing.
Yes, upon getting to know Lou, I was honored to have called him Dad. Lou was one of the kindest men I have ever met and that smile of his was like rays of sunshine coming from the sun.
I send much love and strength to everyone in my dear Mazzarini Family and to everyone that loved Lou.
Hugs and kisses to all,
Kimmy Amico
To Karin and my dear cousins…my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Louie had the biggest heart and was so happy and proud of his beautiful family. I will keep the good memories of us growing up and all of my family going to watch Louie play at Aiken field in Greentree. Glad most of us settled in Fl and stayed in touch..especially after he and Lee would be done golfing by my house. He always had words of encouragement and saw the good in everyone. Rest easy cousin you will be missed but never forgotten.
Dear Karin, Chrissy, Lee, Paul, children and grandchildren
So sorry to hear of Lou’s passing. I hold fond memories of my cousin growing up and my deepest sympathies for all of you. He flies with the angels and rejoices with his mom, dad, Marc and Melinda welcome him home.
I was going through old pictures tonight of friends from when I grew up in Pittsburgh and came across pictures of the Mazzarini twins. I was saddened, when I googled the name to find that Lou had passed. I fondly remember all the times we used to have as Kids, spending the night at each other‘s houses, and playing baseball together. We would have friendly games, but when it came time to play in the league, we wanted nothing more than to beat each other. It was a special time in all our lives, And I wish I would have known that Lou was living in Florida, as I am, and I could’ve seen him. Hopefully Lee reads this, and remembers my name.
Recently, I found some old pictures that reminded me of my childhood. I have just started researching some of those friends and unfortunately found that Lou had passed away last year. I fondly remember the times as a kid with Lou, Lee, Chuck, Mark, and so many others. We had such a great time playing baseball together and generally just having good times. Lee, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. Hope you are doing well my friend. Hope you remember me. My best to his family.
