Margaret “Monee” Christy Ward passed away peacefully on June 7, 2023. She was born on March 22, 1929, in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Monee graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree and worked as a fashion coordinator for McKelvey’s Department Store in Youngstown, Ohio. She married Harold Ward on November 7, 1953, and the newlyweds moved to Kirksville, Missouri, where Monee taught high school. In 1961, they relocated to Clearwater, Florida with their three children, and resided there for the rest of their lives. Monee was active in the community as past President of the Suncoast Hospital Guild, past President of the Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae club, past President of the Florida Orchestra Guild of Clearwater, and past President of the Board of Florida Orchestra, Clearwater group. Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harold M. Ward, her parents, George and Frances Christy, her sister, Frances Hickman, and her brother, George Christy. Monee is survived by her three children, Dr. Elaine Ward, Dr. H. Christopher Ward (Stephanie), and Dr. Thomas Ward (Stacie), as well as three grandchildren, Christopher Ward (Nanette), Caroline Ward, and Thomas Ward. Monee was loved dearly by all and will be truly missed.
