Sue Eileen Hill, of St. Petersburg, Florida and Blairsville, Georgia completed her journey to heaven on June 19, 2023, after an extended illness. She was 84. Sue was born in St. Petersburg on October 4,1938 to the late Edward and Thelma Drew.
Sue was a long time member of Christ United Methodist Church in St Petersburg where she was involved in the Leete Sunday school class. She also met her loving and hilarious husband, Phil at the church. They were married there in 1960 and remained active throughout their lives.
She was preceded in death by Phil in 2019.
She is survived by three sons; Philip, Charles and Kevin (Claire) and three grandchildren Benjamin and Claudia Hill and Bianca Bautista.
Sue graduated from St Petersburg High School in 1956. She was very active in numerous clubs and organizations, including majorette and band. After high school she attended St Petersburg Junior College where she received an Associate’s degree. She was active in the Beta Sigma Phi friendship sorority for 65 years. Sue carried on her affection for being part of a band as a majorette in the Second Time
Arounders Marching Band.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 26. Please honor Sue’s wishes by sending memorial contributions to the church, in lieu of flowers.
