Lee Franklin Perkins Sr. of Dunedin, Florida passed away on August 22, 2023. He was 61. Lee was born on October 29, 1962 to parents Frank William and Flora Perkins (nee Gipson) in Saylersville, KY.
He was an avid gardener and fisherman, who always caught the biggest fish. Lee also enjoyed sports, especially his favorite team Ohio State. He loved being a grandpa and a great-grandpa. His warm personality always put a smile on everyone’s face.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Perkins, whom he spent 29 years with, 18 of which were in marriage; eight children John Hayes of MI, Barry Hayes of FL, Dalton (Angela) Perkins of MI, Lee (Stephanie) Perkins of MI, Ashley (Brian) Mills of KY, Leanne (Elmo) Perkins of OH, Starla Perkins of OH, and Astin Perkins of OH; six siblings, William (Alisha) Perkins of KY, Donna Stephens of FL, Asley Perkins of OH, Kalia James of OH, Jessica Perkins of GA, and Deborah (Ray) Williams of FL; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, Aria Perkins and Octava Tolbert.
Lee is preceded in death by father, Frank Perkins of OH; mother, Flora (Tim) Tadlock of FL; two sisters, Rosa (Reggie) Miller of FL, and Janet Brown of OH; brother, Freddie (Kim) Perkins of KY; and granddaughter, Rosa Lynn Perkins of MI.
A Graveside Service will be held October 27, 2023, 2:30 PM, Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lee’s name to Moffitt Cancer Care at 12902 USF Magnolia DR, Tampa, FL 33612

You will be so missed but I will try my best to do what you told me and listen. I’m working on it. You are with so many loved ones up there and no longer in pain. I hope your fishing, smoking out with mom lol and having so much fun. I love you so much and will remember everything that you have done for me from watching us when we were little taking us fishing if we were good having us beat up your friends it was fun growing up with everyone when we all lived on cructhfield in the house with grandma we just needed a few others with us to be fully complete! Then as we got older to going over to you and aunt Debbie cooking and eating over there with y’all especially your homemade breads boy did you love to cook. Miss you glad I got to see you the night before even though you didn’t want any of us to see you I love you give my parents a big hug for me and grandma.
