Dorothy Jean Swisshelm (84) passed away peacefully on October 23rd 2023, with her family lovingly by her side.
Born May 17th, 1939, to George and Francis Smith. Dorothy lived her rambunctious young life in McKeesport PA. She married her husband Russell Swisshelm in 1991 and moved to Largo Florida with her late husband, where she lived out the remainder of her life.
Dorothy was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, and brave. She was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of her life experiences. She will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them- and if you knew her, you knew it. She loved her bingo, shopping and the VFW and American Legion.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her former husband’s Dale C. Palm and Brynmor Benjamin. Her husband, Russell W. Swisshelm. Daughter, Dori Palm. Parents, George and Francis Smith , her 16 brothers and sisters, and Great granddaughter, Mariah Palm.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joyce Palm (Mark Hughes) from Port Orange FL; Grandchildren, Carlos Rubero III, Eric (Kim) Palm , Holly Palm and Jonathan Palm; Great Grandchildren, Kayla Lund, Eric Palm, Marissa Palm, Selena Palm, Janessa Debuty, Khloe Palm, Grace Palm, Ellie Palm and Liam Palm.
A celebration of life will occur Saturday, October 28th, 2023 from 11-1pm followed by a Funeral services start at 1pm, at Veterans Funeral Care, 830 N. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33765
