Josefa Castillo Hennicke, age 80, of Valrico, FL passed away on December 3rd, 2023 in her home following a four-month illness.
On June 25, 1943, she was born in Surigao, Surigao del Norte, R.P. to parents, Sergio and Melitona (Angcao) Castillo.
On December 31, 1968, she married Paul Douglas Hennicke in Angeles City, R.P. Together, they shared 54 years of marriage.
She worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant since 1980 and retired in 2021. The military moved the family to many places including Biloxi, MS (1969-70), Clark AFB, Phillippines (1970-73), Clovis, NM (1973-76), Berlin, Germany (1976-79), Syracuse, NY (1979-80), Guam, USA (1980-83), Satellite Beach, FL (1983-85), Osan AB, Korea (1985-87), and Valrico, FL (1987-present).
She loved cooking, fishing, karaoke, and traveling. She was very proud to have gotten her American Citizenship in 1976 and her GED diploma in 1974. She completed her CNA certification in 1980. Josefa adored children, cats and dogs of all types, taking care of all of her patients, and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband- Paul Hennicke, daughter- Carmelita Castillo Hennicke, grandson- Brian Douglas Woods, sister- Avelina Angcao Castillo.
Services will be held in her honor at Our Lady of Perpetual Help- 1711 East 11th Ave Tampa, FL 33605 on Friday, December 15th, 2023 with a visitation at 10:00 AM and funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
Her final resting place will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
