Moses Gamble Jr passed away peacefully in his sleep while surrounded by his loving wife and children on November 4, 2023, at the age of 72, at his Kissimmee, FL residence. His battle with medical issues throughout the years showed his perseverance in facing challenges with courage and strength. Despite the pain, Moses stayed strong until the end.
Moses was born to Moses Gamble, Sr., and Lettie Mae Gamble nee (Graham) on November 22, 1950, in Lake City, South Carolina. After graduating from Walker-Gamble High School in 1968, he relocated to Hartford, CT, for new opportunities. He was called to serve his country once he made his bearings in Connecticut.
Moses served his country, where he trained at Fort Monmouth and served in Vietnam. After completing his tour in Vietnam, he settled in Philadelphia, PA, where he met the love of his life, Delphine. Moses and Delphine went on to have nine children; Tamika Turner-Ragland (Jason), Rasheed (Kenya), Asha, Amanda, Angela, Abraham (Naome), Isaiah (Asami), Christian and Zipporah.
Words can’t describe how strong Moses’s work ethic was. He was not only driven, he was compassionate. He held many roles throughout his life, but the one job that brought him joy was driving the school bus. He enjoyed transporting the children to school. He was passionate about serving the Lord through his work in street evangelism and ministry. He participated in helping with food drives for the church and volunteered at homeless shelters. His hobbies included fishing, watching Western movies, and sports, and he had a deep love for nature.
His parents predeceased Moses, Moses Gamble Sr, Lettie Mae Graham, and brothers Tyrone Gamble, Sidney Gamble, and Charles Michael Gamble. He is survived by his wife, children, sisters, Delores Smith, Frances Odom (AJ), Darlene Williams (Ronald), grandchildren, and hosts of nieces and nephews.
