Chaplain Major Keith “Kip” Ronald Harriott, age 69, of Seminole, Florida passed away unexpectedly at home on December 8, 2023.
Kip was born on December 17, 1953 in Iowa City, Iowa, and was the 2nd of 4 children born to U.S. military veteran Keith B. and Patricia (Campbell) Harriott.
Kip graduated from Seminole High School in 1972. He went on to graduate from Florida Beacon Bible College in Florida and Western Evangelical Seminary, where he received his master’s in Divinity, in Oregon. Kip served in the United States Army as a Chaplain and was extremely proud of being a United States Veteran and coming from a military family. After retiring from the military, Kip began his second career as senior pastor at Calvary Open Bible Church in Clearwater, Florida.
Kip loved to travel, try new food, and listen to music. He had a love for animals and people and was always the first to jump in to help when needed. Kip loved to meet new people and could start a conversation with almost anyone. He cherished his relationships with all his family and friends. His unexpected passing is a great loss and he will be missed by many.
Kip is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah Harriott, his daughter Kaitlyn Harriott, and his son Kyle Harriott (wife Courtney). His sister Kathryn Harriott and brothers Kevin (wife Beth) and Kelvin Harriott. His 6 nieces and nephews; Joseph, Jacqueline, Jeremiah, Andrew, Mathew, Catherine, and many aunts, cousins, and friends. He is also survived by his dogs, Charlie, and Bandit.
Kip was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 1:00pm, where he will receive military honors and be laid to rest.
Kip’s celebration of life will be held at Calvary Open Bible Church, 11 North McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater, Florida, on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12:00pm.
