Reverend Dirk Paul Hoffer, Sr.

The Reverend Dirk Paul Hoffer Sr, aged 94, passed away on December 25th, 2023, in Bradenton, Florida. Born on July 29, 1929, in Warren, Ohio, he was a man of unwavering faith and dedication. Dirk was a graduate of Hillsborough High School in 1947 and Southeastern Bible College in 1955.

In 1950, Dirk married Lois Swope Hoffer, who preceded him in death in 2008. His survivors include six children: David (Kathy) Hoffer, Deborah (Keith) Taylor, Daniel Hoffer, Denise (David) Pedersen, Edward (Tam) Hoffer, and Dirk (Pam) Hoffer, Jr., along with 22 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren, as well as, other numerous family members and friends.

Later in life, Dirk found companionship with Jeanette Lewis Hoffer, whom he married in 2010. She preceded him in death in 2021. Jeanette is survived by two children: Gary (Libby) Gnann and Richard (Sondra) Cason, along with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Reverend Hoffer was characterized by his faithfulness, honesty, loyalty, and hardworking nature. His love for Jesus was evident in his commitment to leading and mentoring souls to the Lord. He cherished his family and friends, finding joy in spending time together and indulging in his passion for fishing. An engineer at heart, Dirk delighted in figuring out how to create or repair things. He was known for never meeting a stranger and eagerly shared his testimony, guiding others towards the path of faith.

Dirk served as a Pastor for an astounding 57 years with The Assembly of God, leaving a lasting legacy as a wonderful Pastor, Teacher, Leader, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. In addition to his dedication to spiritual service, Dirk enjoyed activities such as fishing, playing games, and swimming in the ocean, all of which he relished with his beloved family and friends. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
