Boualien Keovongsa, age 72, of Clearwater, Florida died January 3rd, 2024 in Hospice following complications from diabetes and cardiac arrest. She was born in Vientiane, Laos on May 8th, 1951 before marrying her husband of 38 years, Khamla Keovongsa, in their home country. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and working at her produce stand at the Wagon Wheel Flea Market. She absolutely loved cooking and made the most delicious egg rolls. Starting in 1986, she worked at Morrisons Cafeteria as a food service worker before she sold fruits, vegetables, and seafood on the weekend at Wagon Wheel Flea Market up until it permanently closed in 2020. Boualien was proud of being able to give her family a new start in the U.S. by bravely getting her family out of their home country Laos . She was a member of Clearwater First Nazarene and Lao Conference of Churches. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Khamla Keovongsa, and her daughter, Kristin Keovongsa. She is survived by her 3 sons, Vieng, Vong, and Khamphong Keovongsa, her daughter, Somphong Flohre, 17 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Boualien will always be remembered as the life of the party. She was very brave, generous, and loving. A special thanks to Dave and Kathy Gales who sponsored Boualien and her family in coming to the U.S. and successfully helped them resettle after their arrival in 1980. A memorial service will be held at Clearwater First Nazarene Church, 1875 Nursery Road, Clearwater, Florida 33764 on January 20th, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.

These dear parents were the model of courage and strength. They gave great gifts to their children who continue a great legacy of kindness and generosity. Camille and I extend our heartfelt condolences to you children: Vieng, Vong (and Jennifer), Kamphong and Samphong. We love you!

MaTu was the very embodiment of motherly love. She was so proud of her family and warmly welcomed everyone that her kids brought to the house. I didn’t always understand the words coming out of her mouth – but I always understood her because she SHOWED me with her kindness and generosity!
Rest In Peace Mai Boualien. My family and I will miss you and are very greatful for your love and kindness you’ve showered on us when we there at the morning market.
