Sherril passed away on December 22, 2023 at the age of 86 at Suncoast Hospice Palm Harbor. Born on December31,1936 to the late Floyd Thomas and Lucille Adelaide [Adams] Clark in Rollin Township, Michigan. Sherril was preceded in death by 9 siblings, Edith, Tommy, Helen, Delores, Ruth, Robert, Gary, Michael and Terry. Surviving siblings are Alonzo Clark , Nixa, Missouri, Sharron Stidham, Tecumseh, Michigan and Alice Severence, Naples, Florida. Sherril was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife Dessa Gayle [McMullen] Clark, his 4 children Scot, Apollo Beach, Jeffery, Valrico, Mark, Palm Harbor, and Gina Stepchinsky, Angleton, Texas. Known to all of his 10 grandchildren as Gampy. His grandchildren were the love of his life. Brittany Bailey, Cape Coral, Alec, Apollo Beach, Riley, Tampa, Gunner and Corbin, Palm Harbor, Jacob Zimlin, Brandon, Maisen, Ft. Myers, Landri, Tampa, Max and Luke, Valrico. The newest additions are 3 great grandchildren Brooklyn Bailey, Cape Coral,5 Cooper Clark, 3 and Beckett Clark, 8 days, Apollo Beach. 2 Step Grand Children Sarah and James Bailey.
After graduating from Milan High School in Milan, Michigan, Sherril served honorably in the US Marine Corp. and the National Guard. In 1958 he left Michigan for Florida. At a very young age Sherril worked at the neighborhood grocery store in Azalea, Michigan. After leaving Michigan behind , his path continued in retail and the grocery business in many communities from Ruskin to Inverness. Following his first retirement, he and Dessa traveled the United States in their motorhome for 4 years before settling in Homosassa. Enjoying the Country Life there for 20 years. Recently they left that life behind to be closer to family in failing health.
Sherril will be remembered as an extremely knowledgeable and passionate Sports Fan! He loved football, soccer, baseball, boxing ALL sports! There will be a celebration of life at a future date for family and friends.
