Beth Susan (Knutson) MARTIN
Born in 1954, in Chico, California, Beth was the daughter of the late Rev. John and Margo Knutson. Beth was taken in death with loving family members at her side. Raised in Woodworth, Wisconsin, she graduated from Central High School in Kenosha, WI. She was a faithful attender at Suncoast Bible Presbyterian Church in Palm Harbor and Grace Bible Church of Tampa and a member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church of Spring City, PA. An accomplished pianist and organist, she used her musical talents to serve in many churches through the years.
She held a BA in Cross-Cultural Ministries from New Tribes Mission/Ethnos 360, a BS from Clearwater Christian College in General Studies, and an MA in Applied Linguistics /TESOL from the University of South Florida. She most recently enjoyed working at Skycrest Christian School in Clearwater, Florida. Before that, she was a librarian, teacher, missionary, professor, and, as her favorite people called her, mom.
Beth is remembered for her kind heart, caring nature, and ready laugh. She enjoyed creating, whether quilting, paper crafting, or creating memories. A voracious reader, Beth often relaxed with a book in hand. She loved to travel, having lived in 10 states or countries and visited at least 17 additional countries. Beth had a quick wit and an affinity for linguistics. Her unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior gave her a radiant joy which she shared with those around her as she invested in others and appreciated the little things in life.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Dr. Carl T. Martin; her five cherished children: Clayton (Melanie) of Valrico, FL; Heidi of Clearwater, FL; Madeline of Flatwoods, PA; Joanna (Dennis) Opolentisima of Rochester, NY and Katrina of Tainan, Taiwan; Six treasured grandchildren: Titus, Jackson, Cooper, and Wyatt Martin, and Eliana and Gaius Opolentisima; a dear brother, Stephen Knutson of Pinetop, AZ; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
