Beverly Mock

Beverly Jean Harris Mock, 79, of Largo, FL, passed away peacefully at her home on June 7, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. Beverly was born on July 5, 1944, in Gladstone, MI, to the late Charlotte Pease and Frank Harris.

On December 17, 1965, Beverly married Brian B. Mock in Martinez, CA. Together they shared 55 years of marriage until Brian’s passing. Beverly is survived by her children Shawn (Gail), Kathleen (Steven), Jennie (Kevin), and Heather (David); her grandchildren Lauren (Aaron), Bethany (Michael), Katrina (Michael), Kerstin (Timothy), Jessica (Joshua), Taylor (Koty), Michelle, Joseph (Christina), Justin, Ryan (Paige), Jason, and Evan; and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Claire, Charlotte, Annabella, Evelyn, Kinsley, Aiden, Emmelyn, Rowan, Kendall, Hudson, Fiona, Hazel, and Benito. She is also survived by her brothers Victor, Terry, Greg, Tom, and Bob; her sisters Diane, Brenda, Gwen, and Sally Jo; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins; and her best friend and prayer partner of 52 years, Theresa Mallory.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Brian; her parents Charlotte and Frank; her brothers Wesley, Jeff, Dennis, and Jim; her sister Marlene; her grandson Andrew; and her great-grandson Callum.

Beverly’s life was defined by her role as a caregiver, extending her love and compassion to every child she met. She was a long-time member of Living Water Community Church in Bolingbrook, IL, Gulf Coast Church in Largo, FL, and participated in weekly Bible study and lunch with her friends. Throughout her life, she lived in Gladstone, MI; Milwaukee, WI; Cicero and Bolingbrook, IL; and Largo, FL.

She loved to sew, crochet, and paint, finding joy in creating beautiful things for her family and friends. Beverly cherished watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s activities, watching sunsets, and playing Aggravation with her loved ones. Her proudest achievement was her family, and she was deeply involved in church activities, especially those involving children. Beverly’s contagious laugh, witty sense of humor, and welcoming smile and hugs will be missed by all who knew her.

We thank God for every day we had with our beloved mom and her passion for sharing the love of Christ with everyone she met. Beverly’s legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
