Charles A. Plumery, 88, of Clearwater, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born on May 29th, 1936 in Melrose Park, IL, to the late Joseph and Mary Plumery. Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Detro, and her husband, Clair Detro. Charles was a United States Army Veteran. Charles married his wife, Eileen on May 26th, 1962 in Illinois, where they had two daughters. Charles and Eileen and their children moved to Clearwater, Florida in the early 1970s, where they built a new home and opened up a successful pizza place, Charmill’s, and on his days off he enjoyed going to the beach with his wife and daughters. Charles and Eileen eventually sold their business, and Charles worked for the State of Florida. Upon retirement from the State of Florida, Charles worked part time as a crossing guard for the Largo Police Department where everyone continued to enjoy his funny sense of humor and constant smile. Charles was a self-taught musician on the piano and the accordion. He enjoyed camping with his family, and after retirement, Charles and Eileen enjoyed traveling in the United States in their RV every summer and bringing their dog, Ginger, with them. Charles’ sense of humor, smile, laughter, and jokes will be missed but always remembered. Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eileen (Antepenko) Plumery, his two daughters, Ann Marie Plumery and Julie (Plumery) Palitto and her husband, William (Billy) J. Charles’ family would like to thank all of the at-home caretakers who took special care of Charles at home, and all of the wonderful, caring nurses and doctors at Morton Plant Hospital, Hospice, and caseworkers that cared for Charles and were supportive of his family during this time. A Celebration of Life will be held June 22nd, 2023, at Veterans Funeral Care, 830 North Belcher Road, Clearwater, Florida, Fl, 33765, and officiated by Pastor Rob Beswetherick.

My heartfelt condolences to Eileen and her entire family, God bless you all, Charlie was a great man he always put his family first. He had a wonderful sense of humor that would always make you laugh. Rest in peace Charlie you will be missed.
Charley and I were in Grade, High and college together affording a wonderful opportunity to share times and life’s
Experiences. He always had a happy attitude and friendly enthusiasm. Fran and I loved the times we all shared together. He will be missed by his many friends and certainly and his very fine loving family. As I have aged I have learned Charley is the lucky one to enjoy Heaven first . We should be celebrating his luck. Fran and I shall continue praying for him and his family.
