Sybil Lucille Elie, age 80, of Largo, FL, passed away peacefully on July 16th, 2024. She was born on October 28th, 1943, in Opp, Alabama, to Bethel and Dosie Mae Whitman.
Sybil was married to her devoted husband, Joseph (Joe) Elie, for 21 years. She is survived by her husband, Joe; her loving children, June, Tammy, Jason, Vansel, and Christie; stepchildren Michelle and John; grandchildren Joanna, Janae, Jacob, Savanna, Seth, Jarrod, Tony, Sabastian, Jaxson, and Dean; and great-grandchildren Eva, JR, Jethro, and Killian.
Sybil moved to Largo in 1960 and embraced her community with warmth and kindness. She worked at Publix Super Markets until her retirement in 2014 and was a dedicated member of Harvest Temple Church of God and First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, her faith was the cornerstone of her life.
Sybil cherished her family above all else, and found joy in riding her motorcycle with her
husband, dancing, and visiting the beach. Her greatest achievement was instilling values of faith, love, and the belief in God in all of her children.
Visitation will be held on July 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater, FL, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at 1:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, FL, on the same day.
Sybil will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to be a part of her life.
Sybil, you will be greatly missed. After you moved to Pinellas county from Opp I didn’t get to see you much you were always a favorite cousin Please RIP
