Virgil H. Price of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away on June 24, 2024 at the age of 91. Born on April 22,1933 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Virgil H. Price Sr. and Florence Jones Atkinson.
Virgil served four years in the United States Marine Corps receiving an Honorable discharge and then enlisted into the United States Air Force and retired with an Honorable discharge after twenty years as an Aircraft Mechanic. He also served in the Korean and Vietnam War. While serving in the United States Marines and the United States Air Force he was awarded numerous medals.
He was the treasurer of the National Amputee Golf Association for 7 years. Virgil loved working with the Amputee Association as he was an amputee himself. He had a golf tournament for several years called Stumps “R” Us. He loved to play golf, travel, make new friends, make people smile and listen to music.
Virgil will be missed by all who knew him for his sense of humor, laughter and generosity.
Virgil is survived by his two daughters, Karen Brown and Robin Burrows, son James Price, son in laws, Ronald Brown and Whistle Burrows, four grandchildren, Summer Digrazia, Trey Burrows and wife Jennifer Burrows, Corey Burrows and wife Bridget Burrows & Tiffany Price, six great grandchildren, Savanna Holloway, Brayden Burrows, Lora Burrows, Emma Burrows, Levi Burrows, Kelton Summit and Virgil’s sister Sandra Nauta. Virgil is preceded in death by his daughter Debby Collet and Florence Price, the mother of his children.
Retired TSGT Virgil H. Price Jr. will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with full Military Honors. His service will be at his gravesite on Monday December 9th, 2024 at 1400hrs.
