Thomas Erwin Tice – May 16, 1933 to December 1, 2024 Age 91.
Passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024. Husband for 50 years to the late Virginia (nee LeQue).
Survived by his Companion and Friend, Marilyn Speeler of Seminole, Florida. Preceded in death by his
parents Philip II, and Clara (nee Hamburger), Brother Philip III, Son James, recently his Daughter Loretta,
and Great Grandson Levi. He leaves behind his 6 children, Thomas (Ronnie) of Las Vegas, David (Debra)
of Bay View, Gregory of Summersville, SC, John (Kathleen) of Shorewood, Joseph (Dawn) Hales Corners,
Susan (Frank) of North Prairie. Son-in-law David Nowaczynski. 33 Grandchildren, 39 Great
Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. He was so proud of his family. He always said, “All because
two people fell in love.”
Tom grew up in Cudahy and graduated from Don Bosco high school. He married the absolute love of his
life, Virginia, on September 13, 1952, and started a family a short time after. He joined the Navy
Reserves and served for 3 years before he was called into Active duty in 1952. He then served as a Navy
Seabee until 1955, when he received an Honorable Discharge. He remained in the Navy Reserves until
1968 and received the National Defense Service Medal while serving.
Tom was a long-time employee at Wisconsin Gas Company, where he was the youngest person
promoted to Foreman within the company. He worked there in total for 36 years. He retired in 1988
and a year later, Tom and his wife Virginia moved to Florida to enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Tom
lived there until the day he passed.
There will be a Catholic Mass for Tom at St. Theresa’s Church in Eagle, 136 W. Waukesha Road, Eagle, WI
53119 at 10:00 am on January 25, 2025. Immediately following, there will be a Celebration of Life at the
North Prairie Village Hall, 130 N. Harrison Street, North Prairie, WI 53153. Tom will be laid to rest at St.
Joseph’s Cemetery, at a later date where a private burial will be held for immediate family. Please come
join us and help celebrate our Dad.
