Lisa Walker-Hunter passed away at home on December 15th, surrounded by her family. Lisa was born on June 22nd, 1967 in Mansfield, Ohio where she attended Madison High School, and met many life-long friends. She moved to Florida in 1999 and married Bobby Hunter of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Her parents are Susan L. Stevens-Rapp of Welston Ohio, Ronald E. Walker (deceased) of Orangeburg, South Carolina and James A. Baumberger of Vancouver, Washington. She is survived by a sister Lori (Walker) Wolfgang of Crestview Florida and 2 half-siblings, Ronald Walker and Tanya Kenney of Orangeburg, South Carolina. Step-Daughter Melissa and Step-Son Jeremy of Pennsylvania and 9 Grandchildren. Lisa is also survived by her Niece Nova Mochoskay, Grand-Niece Aurora Smith and Nephew Jacob Wolfgang, all of Crestview Florida.
Lisa is often remembered for her humor, sense of fun, and her love of animals (critters). Caring for all the critters in Fort Walton Beach, Lisa loved being a veterinarian technician and worked at Northside Veterinarian clinic for over 20 years. She could often be found loving on the menagerie of critters, that came through the door. Lisa was also personally responsible for the rescue, care and homing for a countless number of animals. Lisa loved a good road trip and when the weather was cool, she could be found camping and enjoying the conversation of friends and family under the glow of a good camp fire. Known for her “Glamping” and stockpile, Lisa was set and prepped for any threat of a zombie apocalypse that may surface.
True to her giving nature, Lisa donated her body and tissue for scientific research. She wished only for simple thing of home, love and laughter. Memorial service is pending at present time, date to be determined later. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made in her honor to your local SPCA or animal welfare agency.
