It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Lombardo, age 81, who passed away peacefully at his home in Clearwater, Florida on January 4, 2025. Born on July 13, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, Michael was the beloved son of Charles Lombardo and AnnMarie Hansen.
Michael married the love of his life, Patricia Dvorak, on September 11, 1965, in Astoria, New York, and they shared 59 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose family meant the world to him. Michael is survived by his wife Patricia Lombardo, daughters Laura Alvarez and Michelle Eaton, sister Carol Curran, five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents AnnMarie and Charles Lombardo, and his brothers Robert and Vincent Lombardo.
Throughout his life, Michael was dedicated to both his family and his community. He spent most of his career with the Pinellas County Highway Division. Michael also had strong ties to the U.S. military, serving in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army National Guard and the U.S. Navy Seabees. His service to his country and his community was among his proudest achievements.
Known for his sense of humor and his deep love of friends and family, Michael was a man who touched the lives of many. His generosity, compassion, and dedication to those around him will be remembered always.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Suncoast Hospice and the staff at the Veterans Health Administration for the exceptional care provided to Michael in his final months.
A visitation will be held on January 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Veterans Funeral Care, 830 N Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33795. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
Sad news. I really enjoyed working with Mike. His sense of humor got me thru many days. My condolences for the family.
