Jeanne Chilton, age 98, of Dunedin, Florida, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Hospice of the Suncoast in Palm Harbor, Florida. Born on April 13, 1926, in Muncie, Indiana, Jeanne was the cherished daughter of the late Louis and Bertha Rinker.
On November 10, 1945, Jeanne married the love of her life, Thomas E. Chilton. Their union was a beautiful testament to love and partnership, as they shared 69 wonderful years together, creating a legacy of family and cherished memories. Jeanne was a devoted mother to her daughters, Karen (Tony) McLemore and Debbie (Paul) Raveling, and a proud grandmother to her grandchildren: Stuart (Carrie) McLemore, Rebecca (Mike) Zoumberos, Michele (Rodrigo) Cruz, and Jason Raveling. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life.
Jeanne dedicated her professional life to serving others, working in the Meat Department at Publix and also in the home health care industry, where her compassion and kindness touched the lives of many. A lifelong member of the Methodist Church, her faith was a guiding light in her life, providing her with strength and community.
Throughout her life, Jeanne embraced the beauty of travel, exploring the vast landscapes of the United States in their RV, and creating countless memories with her family along the way. She had a zest for life that was evident in her love for square dancing and her passion for country music, which brought joy and rhythm to her days.
Jeanne lived in various beautiful locations throughout Florida, including Sarasota, Sebring, Miami, and West Palm Beach, before settling in Dunedin, where she continued to spread warmth and love to all who knew her.
Jeanne Chilton will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, and her joyful heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM and the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. The visitation and service will be held at Gulf Coast Fellowship Church 600 19th St. Palm Harbor, FL. 34683, where all who knew and loved her are invited to share in the memories and honor her remarkable journey.
