Gerard A. O’Reilly, 78, of Weston, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston, FL, under the compassionate care of Vitas Hospice.
Gerard was born in the Bronx, New York, on September 9, 1947. After graduating from high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, exemplifying bravery and dedication.
Gerard married Jane Veronica Fyfe O’Reilly, a devoted critical care nurse and hospice administrator, and together they shared a life filled with love and compassion. Their marriage endured until Jane’s passing due to cancer in November 2015.
In the two years leading up to his own passing, Gerard exhibited remarkable courage and grace as he faced terminal illness. His strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Gerard is survived by his beloved son, Ian O’Reilly, his wife Lillian O’Reilly, and their two cherished grandchildren, Vivian and Brian O’Reilly.
A celebration of Gerard’s life and burial interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513, beginning at 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the HPH Hospice Foundation, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, FL 34667, in honor of Gerard’s compassionate spirit.
