Phillip Eugene Tackett passed away on October 30, 2025 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Phil was the son of the late Dorothy Lucille Harrison and Merrill Eugene Tackett and was born on October 6, 1959 in New Castle, Indiana. Phil served his country proudly with a career in the Navy that lasted 29 years and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marsha Harrison Thompson. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Becky Zepf-Piela and Dennis Piela and two nephews, Michael Thompson and Brian Zepf and his special step-daughter, Wendy Honeycutt and her son, Dustin Phillip Gerding. As per Phil’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
