Steve Harris is a Senior Funeral Director with Veterans Funeral Care. He is well-versed in all aspects of funeral service and has served the communities of Pinellas and Pasco counties since moving to Florida from Massachusetts in 1985. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston, MA, in 1982 with a degree in Funeral and Mortuary Sciences.
His passion for caring for people is not limited to funeral service; he is also the Pastor at Holy Apostles Church in Dunedin and is the presiding Bishop of the Diocese of Florida for the Independent Old Catholic Church. He holds multiple degrees in theology, ministry, and chaplaincy, culminating with his Dr. of Ministry in 2013 and his Dr. of Divinity in 2019.
He comes from a long line of veterans; his maternal grandfather served as a PFC in the Army during World War I in France with the 307th Engineer Battalion, as part of the 82nd Infantry Division. His paternal grandfather served in the Army as a SFC with Battery A, 685th AAA 90mm Gun Battalion during the Korean War. And his father served with the Massachusetts National Guard during the turbulent 1960s.
He married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Colleen, in 1983. They have two daughters. Together, he and his family enjoy traveling, especially on cruises and spending time in the mountains of north Georgia.
