Holly Renate Gunkel, age 93, of Tampa, FL died Monday, January 12, 2026. She was preceded in
her death by George Gunkel, her loving husband of 70 years. She is survived by her three
daughters, Michelle Higgins, Patti Ballard and Shelley Mouzis – as well as five grandchildren,
seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Holly was born in Berlin, Germany
and became a naturalized American citizen in 1955. As an Air Force serviceman’s wife, Holly
was a volunteer with the Red Cross, Walter Reed Hospital and various Assisted Living Facilities.
