Clayton M. Davis

Clayton M. Davis was born on June 25, 1935 in Bell, Florida  and went to be with the Lord on  March 18th, 2026. He was the son of John and Annie Mae Davis.

Clayton graduated from Bell High School in 1953 and three years later, he married the love of his life Pauline, at Everybody’s Tabernacle in Clearwater, Fl., on January 1, 1956. It was a loving marriage that continued for 70 years.

After serving in the Air Force from 1958 until 1962, he went into the soil testing and well drilling business, working with Girdler Foundation.

He ultimately started Davis Drilling Company in 1974 and retired in 1985 at the age of 55.

For Clayton, retirement was a bridge onto the Missions Field as he took his trade and his skills around the world, drilling water wells for orphanages,  marginalized villages and churches.

Forty-five years ago, in 1981 Clayton, Pauline and his family embarked on yet another journey as they were among the Founding Members of Countryside Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon, an Elder, and as an Executive on the Board of Directors, and continued to serve faithfully as a missionary.

He continued his service to others for the next 20 years as the Director of Helping Hands, Countryside Christian Church’s outreach to the community, where multitudes of families were provided food and clothing. This ministry is still in effect today.

Clayton Davis was a hard-working, giant of a man  with a tender heart who loved fishing, he loved to put a hole in the ground, he loved the Florida Gators and he loved his wife and family, but above all he had an immense love for God.

Clayton was preceded in death by his son, Stuart W. Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Pauline Davis, his two sons, James (Teresa), Glenn Davis (Elaine), 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
