It is with both profound sadness and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Richard Tetrault, who departed this world on April 9, 2026, at the age of 79. Richard’s journey began in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he was born on August 16, 1946, to loving parents Florence and Armand Tetrault. His life, filled with love, dedication, and adventure, left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Richard spent the majority of his life in the sunny embrace of Clearwater, Florida, a place he called home for 70 years. It was there that he developed a deep love for the great outdoors, embracing the freedom and serenity found in boating and fishing. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were opportunities for Richard to connect with nature and cherish the company of family and friends.
In September of 1968, Richard married the love of his life, Donna Sharp, at St. Paul Methodist Church in Largo, Florida. Together, they shared a remarkable 58-year journey, building a life rich with love and laughter. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Glen Tetrault and his wife, Kenja, and Allison Gesacion and her husband, Dave, who continued to bring joy and pride into Richard’s life through their own families. Richard’s legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Jake, Taylor, Payton, Tripp, Cameron, Kennedi, Carson, and Brady, who will carry forward the values and love he instilled in them.
Richard honorably served his country in the United States Navy, a testament to his dedication and sense of duty. This service was a source of great pride, reflecting his commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear.
Richard’s life was a tapestry of treasured moments shared with those he loved. His brothers, David and Don, were lifelong companions with whom he shared countless memories. Richard’s family was his anchor, and he found immense joy in their gatherings, where laughter echoed and love abounded.
Though our hearts are heavy with his passing after a short illness, we find solace in the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind. Richard’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will forever reside in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
