In Loving Memory of Bobby Thomasson
Bobby Thomasson, of Valrico, Florida, passed away on July 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, devotion, and quiet strength. Born on August 17, 1943, Bobby lived a life defined by commitment—to his country, his work, and most of all, his family. In 1962, Bobby joined the United States Air Force, beginning a distinguished 20-year military career. He served two tours in Vietnam, demonstrating courage, resilience, and unwavering duty. He retired from the Air Force in 1982, carrying with him the deep respect of those who served alongside him. After his military service, Bobby continued to work hard and build a community through a 25-year career in the automobile industry. His steady presence, reliability, and work ethic earned him the admiration of colleagues and friends. To his family, Bobby was the center of their world—the person who made them feel protected, who gave advice they did not always want but always needed, and who showed them that love is often quiet, steady, and dependable. He loved simple pleasures: working in the yard, fixing things that did not need to be fixed, and hearing laughter from his family around the dinner table. Those moments were never small to him—they were what life was all about. His guidance shaped their lives, and his strength anchored them through every season. Eventually, Bobby settled into retirement in Valrico, Florida, where he enjoyed the slower pace of life he had earned. He found comfort in familiar routines, meaningful connections, and the simple joys of home.
Bobby is survived by his children Jeff Thomasson and Amy Cunningham, who will forever carry his love and lessons forward. He is also survived by grandchildren Chris, Robert and Jennifer Cunningham and Logan Thomasson and Kaycee Ferris. Great grandchildren Allison and Johnathan Cunningham, Saylor Ferris and Noah Thomasson. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.
