Robert Joseph Stevens, 86, died peacefully on July 25, 2026, at home in Palm Harbor, FL surrounded by family.
Bob was born April 5, 1940, in Portland, Maine, the son of Kenneth and Anna Stevens. He grew up in Greenfield, MA, earned his degree from Fairfield University in 1962, and went on to build a 35-year career in advertising with internationally recognized firms, working primarily in New York City and southern Connecticut. He and his family made their home in Newtown, CT and Ramsey, NJ before settling in Palm Harbor, FL, where he and Natalie spent their retirement years and built a circle of dear, lasting friendships.
Bob was happiest at the ocean—on the beach, or camping beside it, anywhere in the world. He had a lifelong fascination with consumer electronics, not just as a user but as someone who genuinely wanted to understand how things worked, and he became the person his Palm Harbor neighbors turned to when they needed help getting or staying “connected” to all things electronic. He loved music across the full spectrum, from classic rock to opera.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Natalie; daughters Mary Stevens (Michael Porter) and Carolyn Ferranti (David Ferranti); his brother John Stevens (Faride); nieces Vanessa Stevens and Simone Stevens; and sister-in-law Mary Raje.
A private family celebration of life will be held. Those wishing to honor Bob’s memory may donate to the Ocean Research & Conservation Association or World Central Kitchen.
