Stuart Mater, age 88, of Clearwater Florida , passed away peacefully on 09/17/2026 from . Born on 10/14/1937 in Richmond, VA.
He was the son of the late Frank and Mabel Mater and was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Donald, and his sister, Frances. He is survived by his “favorite” daughter, Tracy Mater.
He spent his career working as a salesman and also enjoyed spending time working and volunteering at the golf course.
Outside of work, he enjoyed the things that made him happiest. He loved fishing, playing golf, spending time at the gun range, and being at the beach. Those who knew him will especially remember his dry sense of humor and the way he could make you laugh when you least expected it.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, family, friends, and all those who knew him.
There will be no formal service. His daughter asks that those who knew him remember him in their own way—with a good story, a laugh, or perhaps a day spent doing something he loved.
