Thomas K. Sharo Sr., 71, of Largo, Florida passed away on January 15, 2014.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Sarasota National Cemetery located at 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241 with Father Robert Swick and the Kirby Stewart – American Legion Post # 24, to officiate. Please be at the cemetery between 1:30 PM and the service time.
Thomas was a native of Chicago, IL and a local resident of Largo, Florida. He was a retired Head Pipeliner for Amoco Oil Company and a catholic that attended St Catherine Catholic Church. Thomas was also a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War Era and a member of the ELKS Lodge # 2143 as well as AMVETS Post # 91 and the Vice Commander of American Legion Post 252. During his US Army career, he was promoted to the rank of SSP4 and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal; Letter of Appreciation and a EXPERT Rifleman.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Lucille Sharo; his wife of 38 years, Diane Hensley Sharo and two daughters, Joy Bowman and Mary Sharo. He is survived by his loving family: sons: Thomas K. Sharo Jr. and his wife, Pam of Largo, Florida; Randall Sharo of Charleston, South Carolina; Jeff Payne and his wife, Carol of Indiana; Vicki Bowman of Largo, Florida; brothers, Terry Sharo and his wife, Barb of Illinois and Johnny Sharo and his wife Beverly of Illinois; sister, Charlene Brower and her husband, Ray of Illinois; and eleven grandchildren.
