Dwight W. Phillips, Sr., 83 of Pinellas Park, FL, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014.
He was born February 21, 1930 in Beallsville, OH to the late L.W. Phillips and Helen (Riley) Hoskinson. Dwight, also known as “Ike”, served in the US Army at Fort Knox, KY, then moved to Ravenna, OH before settling in Pinellas Park. He retired from Norton Company, Diamond Street plant, after 38 years of service where he worked in Quality Control. He was active in the local AFL-CIO serving as Treasurer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna. He enjoyed spending time with his family, square dancing, watching sports, and playing golf.
Memories of Dwight will be forever in the heart of his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Lula (Mobley) Phillips of Pinellas Park; his son, Dwight (Connie) Phillips, Jr. of Akron, OH; daughter, Kathy (Tom) Johnson of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Mary Catherine Mauri; brother; Arlen (Jenny) Phillips; four grandchildren, Angela (Junior) Adams of Sieverville, TN, Gregory (Dana) Goode of Pittsburgh, PA, Geoffrey Goode of McMinnville, OR, Alicia (Marcus) Sanders of Ravenna, OH; and three great-grandchildren, Jack Goode, Marcus Sanders, Jr., and Charles Goode. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Eula Taylor, and brothers Clifford, Lorne, Jesse, Carlos, and Bernard.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2013 at Park Place Wesleyan Church, 4400 70th Avenue North, Pinellas Park 33781, http://www.ppwc.org.

I am a Square Dance friend of Ike and Lula for many years and am so sorry for your loss. Ike just had a knee replacement so he could get back to dancing with us. Lula had just starting back
and Ike was needing a few more weeks before he would be able to get rid of the cane. We were
so happy to have them both back with us. Ike was such a fine man and will be missed by all of us. My sincerest condolences to the family.

We are sorry to hear of Ikes passing and, offer our prayers to Lula. We had known Ike for many years as he was from Ohio. He was a fellow square dancer and good friend. Sorry we will miss the services but,time and, distance will prevent it. Jim/Carol
