William J. Kwapisz, Sr., 91, of St. Petersburg, died February 9, 2014 at Mid Pinellas Care Center under the care of Suncoast Hospice.
Born in Buffalo, NY, Bill moved here from Old Bethpage, NY in 1984. He retired from Federated Department Stores as a Traffic Manager after 34 years. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and in the Navy Reserve during Korea as a Hospital Corpsman First Class at a military hospital. He was an award winning bowler and enjoyed golfing and traveling on cruise ships, having logged over 60,000 miles.
Survivors include his wife 62 years, Marjorie; two sons William Jr. (Kathleen) and Peter (Yuka); two sisters, Helen and Peggy; and 5 grandchildren: Jennifer, Mathew, Benjamin, James, and Julia, all of New York.
