Mary Whitaker Hensley Wagner Mary Wagner of Largo, FL, born March 5, 1923 was promoted to her heavenly home May 31, 2014.

Mary is survived by her husband of 30 years Damon Wagner, formerly of London, KY, her daughter, Carolyn Hensley Reynolds, formerly of Oak Ridge, TN, and son-in-law, Dr. Michael J. Reynolds, formerly of Lexington, KY. All are presently residing in Pinellas County, FL. Mary was blessed with two grandchildren, Christopher M. Reynolds of Seminole, FL, and Bethany N. Corradino. Bethany serves on the mission field in Southeast Asia with her husband, Marc A. Corradino and Mary’s great granddaughters, Audrey Louise, Chloe Anna and Mimi Pearl. Mary’s sibling survivors include two sisters, Mrs. James (Ivel) White of Lexington, KY, and Mrs. Inman (Sarah) Sherman of Wesley Chapel, FL. Mary has two stepchildren, Susan Mohamed and Steve Wagner; a step daughter, Nancy Kupec and a step great granddaughter, Lauren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Edward Hensley of Oak Ridge, TN. She was also preceded in death by siblings: two sisters, Jane Helfenberger and Alpha Prewitt; and three brothers, Joe, George and Herbert Whitaker.

Mary was affectionately called “Mimi” or “Aunt Mary” by her numerous multigenerational nieces and nephews. Many calls and cards always came from her loved ones to help celebrate special occasions. Mary was a small business owner and salon stylist in Oak Ridge, TN for 20 years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. She relocated to Largo, FL, where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks and active in Bible studies and as a Deacon’s wife. She was also employed at Oak Manor for several years. A gourmet “Southern Cook”, Mary always had incredible home baked delights and beautiful meals. Mary’s kitchen was always open for family, friends and visitors. Her love of cooking, flowers and her artistic talents were lovingly lavished on those in her path. She loved life and she loved her Lord.

A memorial service for Mary will be held at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2014. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM, prior to the service. The church address is 12685 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33774 (www.indianrocks.org ) and the service will be held in the Chapel.
