Mary Marchese, born January 8, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, took her journey to be with the Lord on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Trinity Hospital in New Port Richey with her family by her side.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Pascuzzo, formerly of West Babylon NY; her son, Frank Tucci, formerly of Patchogue, NY, daughter-in-law, Lori Tucci all now residing in New Port Richey, FL. Mary was blessed with four grandchildren, Corey Pascuzzo, Elaine MacKanzie, Michael Pascuzzo, Danielle Tucci; and four great grandchildren, Gabrielle MacKenzie, Emma MacKenzie, Nicole Pascuzzo and Sydney MacKenzie who referred to her as Great Mema.
After raising her family on Long Island, Mary relocated to Palm Harbor, FL in 1990, then to New Port Richey, FL in 2009. She enjoyed walking on the beach, collecting sea shells and watching the sunsets in her earlier years. Mary loved the Lord. She was an active member of Countryside Christian Center for many years. She would sing hymns all the time, as this brought joy to her heart displaying her passion for the Lord upon her face.
In her spare time Mary was always ready to play a game. During the daytime she would gather with her friends and play cards, in the evening it was Bingo! When there was nothing going on Mary would pick up her crocheting needle and crochet blankets, continue to work on a needle point or make bead jewelry. Many of the blankets she made were donated for fund raisers.
Her most desired passion was spending time with her family, cooking (really directing us in the kitchen later in years), baking, and celebrating for any occasion, especially Holidays. When there was a party, Mary was there! Mary always came with a great attitude, ready to have a good time, with a great big smile on her face. If she could, she would be dancing; as we are sure she is dancing and singing with the Angels now.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Emeritus at LaCasa Grande, 6400 Trouble Creek Rd, Port Richey, FL 34653 Phone:(727) 213-0721 https://www.emeritus.com/florida/new-port-richey-retirement-community/emeritus-la-casa-grande. Most times we, as funeral directors, never have the privilege in knowing the individual that we are planning arrangements for. Their family is our only connection. Meeting with Linda and Frank and extended family reflects the fact that Mary did very well at raising her brood, and I have been blessed in assisting such a loving family.
I met Mary in patchogue NY in 1974 when I became friends with her daughter Linda..She was a lovely woman and loved her family very much! I was happy to see her again in FL. and had a chance to reconnect..She told me that she loved God and that gave us a common bond..I know her family will miss her very much..She has a new home in Heaven..
