Dezso Bartha, Jr., 69, of Winter Haven, FL, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Hospice Forsyth Center in Auburndale, FL. He was born in Baj, Hungary and moved to Florida from Waterbury, CT.
Mr. Bartha served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Green Beret and a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He made a career of being a Police Officer for the Waterbury Police Department. Dezso was a caring and giving person, who opened his heart and home to many. He always was a generous man to relatives and strangers. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, collected stamps and loved deep sea fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dezsi and Julia Bartha. He is survived by his wife, Diane; sons, Dezso J. Bartha and Marcus D. Manderino; daughter, Danielle Gilberts; and grandchildren and nieces.
Services with military honors will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Florida National Cemetery.
Its very hard to put into words about Dezso.He was a wonderful person he raised some great children to whom he was very proud of.He will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him.Including me.I was very fond of Dezso, and.I know how hard it was for Diane, but she will be ok.It will take time,but she has her family and friends support.Diane worked very hard to take of him.She was a wonderful wife to Dezso.Dezso is home now, and free of all his pain.
