Beatrice Rita Sztaba, 81, of Largo, FL, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 25, 2014. She moved to Winter haven, FL, in 1986 from New York and moved to Largo in 2001.
Beatrice was a bus driver in the transportation industry and was also a homemaker. She was dearly loved by her family. She was always involved with the family on holidays and she enjoyed the “Bring a dish” family nights. She always made sure there was plenty of good food to be served. The nights usually concluded with the adults playing card games.
There were days when Mom and Dad would bring the family to the raceway to watch Dad’s home-built stock car race down the speedway. The only time Dad’s car came close to winning, the tire fell off right before the finish line!
She also had the ability to bring out the best in people. We ALL were made to feel equally special. She could put a positive influence into people wanting to change their lives for the better. Her love was passed down from generation to generation and spread out to encompass us all.
We were so lucky to have had such a beautiful and strong woman, inside and out, for so many years!! She was a loyal friend to her family and friends. She always had time to listen and give advice that was very well needed and you could tell that she never judged you no matter what the situation and / or problem was.
She was prayerful and spiritual and had a quiet strength about her with a gentle spirit. She was creative making quilts for personal gifts and sewing gifts for the homeless and handicapped. Beatrice was adventurous and loved to travel and go camping with her family.
She was a caring, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister who used her wisdom, patience and unwavering love to find great joy in her family.
She was preceded by her husband of 51 years, Richard James Sztaba, her parents, Elmer and Teresa Ide, and her sisters, Barbara, Pat, Alma and Anna. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth of San Antonio, TX, James of Orchard Park, NY and Daniel of Largo, FL; daughter, Rita Mills of Clearwater, FL; brother, Franklin Ide of Winter Haven, FL; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Beatrice and Richard will be interred together at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
you will not be forgot.
She was one of the kindest souls, always there and smiling. Taught me to quilt and I will always think of her when I do. A beautiful smile and heart. I am grateful my last conversation with her was “just to make her laugh because I always do”. I love you guys and I’m sorry I can’t be there with you.
you will be dearly missed!!
I love you Aunt Beaty and have such fond memories of all the times we shared. Thank you for all you’ve done for my family. God has prepared a special place for you in heaven. Rest in peace. You will be greatly missed.
Love, Pam

Wonderful thoughts of this beautiful woman. During her visits to Omaha, Ne. she was kind to our family, always made us feel welcome, and always a kind word. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
I knew Beatrice very briefly, but she was a joy. It is always a pleasure to work with such a wonderful family.
