Donald Wayne Cherniske, 62, of Dover, FL funeral service is 2:30 PM, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, FL with Father Robert Swick, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 12:30 PM until service time. Military honors will conclude the service.
A native of New Milford, CT and a local resident of Dover; he served our nation in the US Army during the Vietnam War Era; a Catholic and was the HVAC Engineer for the Lighting at the Tampa Bay Forum (now the Amalie Arena).
Don is predeceased by his parents, William and Rose (Shanks) Cherniske; a daughter, Elizabeth and a brother, Bill Cherniske. He is survived by his loving family: his wife Patricia “Patty” of Dover, FL; children: son, Jason Woods (Jessica) of Valrico, FL; daughters; Dawn Leslie (Paul) of Lakeland, FL and Donna Brunner (Rob) of Bethel, CT; a brother, Timothy Cherniske (Lynda) of Peachtree City, GA; three sisters; Mary Cherniske of Maine, Gail Farro of Exeter, NH and Pat Cherniske of Saco, ME and six grandchildren: Michael Mourtos, Isabella Mourtos, Baron Woods, Nicholas Woods, Christopher Woods and Angel Leslie.
