Carl Delos Whisler, 83, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on October 12, 2014 at Sabal Palms Healthcare Center of Largo, Florida. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on August 19, 1931, the son of the late Roy D. and Ruby Shrewsberry Whisler. Carl was a graduate of Case Western Reserve with an EA degree in engineering and a masters degree in engineering from The Ohio State University.
Carl served our country in the Army during the Korean War and later was married to Gloria Weimer who survives. He was a Boy Scout master and enjoyed woodworking and sailing on Lake Erie. Carl was a man of God and served as an usher at his church for many years.
Besides his wife of 63 years, Gloria, of Clearwater, he is survived by two daughters: Cynthia D. Loos, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Sara Miller of Avon Lake, Ohio; two sons: Scott D. Whisler of Dallas, Texas and Timothy J. Whisler of Clearwater; and six grandchildren
Services from the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Missouri Avenue, Largo, Florida 33770 on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11am with interment at Bay Pines VA National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund in memory of Carl D. Whisler.
