I know that words cannot describe your pain and heavy sense of loss. You probably feel that you did not have time to prepare for Linda’s departure-yet, when you think about it-you really can’t prepare for this. My heart is heavy too, but you are blessed that she did not have to suffer any
longer. Phillip, we miss you and love you, and we are so glad that Chase had some time with her that day. We heard that when you called, her face just lit up, and she could even talk better. I am so glad that the girls were with her at that time. I hear thru Katherine that you did everything you could for her. That’s wonderful. Bill, we know that you will miss her so terribly – but she will ALWAYS be with you. If I can do ANYTHING, PLEASE LET ME. CALL 727-773-0628

The past months have turned into a blur for me. I was so excited to finally get home to the Tampa area and be closer to my Mom and our families. It was so good to be able to drive 25 miles and be home. Mom was so happy to have us home. That joy turned to sadness here as of lately. Mom must have been sick with the cancer for a much longer time than anyone was aware of. It took her fast!! I took days off from work to go with her and Dad to all of her doctors appointments. Lung cancer and pancreatic cancer that was spread all through her body… Mom did not want to have radiation or chemotherapy and I can understand why. It would have weakened her even more than she already was. She said it was her time. She assured me that I was going to be okay without her here on this earth- that I would go on. She assured me that she would always be with me and that she was sorry that she would not be here daily to check on each of her children and make sure that we were all doing ok. She told me that you know when it is your time. She was a strong and brave lady. She kept trying to smile all the way to the end. My sister and I were with her when she passed away- each of us holding her hand. I simply told her…”Mom, if you are ready – you can go.” Marisa told her “we will be ok – you have done a good job with us.” We assured her that she had been a good mother and good wife and that she would always be with us in our hearts – we told her that we would look after Dad and Philip… She could hear us – I know she could. She took her last breath and went to sleep… I am so thankful that I was there with Mom as she exited from this earth to a better place. I went today to the funeral home to witness her cremation- it was not as hard as I thought it would be – I have peace of mind knowing that I was there to see her through that chapter. The final chapter will be on Friday – we put Mom to rest in the Florida National Cemetery. She will live on inside of me forever- I will miss her dearly – but, for me to have her back here on earth it would be selfish of me. I am forever thankful for the person that gave me life and taught me to be the person that I am today. I love you Mom.
Patricia
Dear Sweet Linda:
My sister, my best friend, the loving memories will go on forever. Oh, how I wish I could pick up the phone and talk to you as we always have. I will miss our time together terribly. As I look up above to you today, I wonder, can you hear me? I’m still talking about how wonderful, loving and dear you wereare to me. Where would I be without your giving, caring and sharing, without your kindness love and guidance throughout my life. What a wonderful beautiful spirit you were. I love you dearly. No one else could make Jerry laugh from such a long distance. He, too, will miss your phone calls. How sad it is you never had the opportunity to meet each other however he knew your beautiful spirit. Until our spirits meet in heaven, I will continue to talk to you from here.
