Campbell, Donald L., 80, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away Thursday night, Oct. 24, 2007 at Memorial Pembroke Hospital under the care of Vitas Hospice.
Born in Huntington, WV, he moved to South Florida in the 1950?s from Orlando. He attended Marshall University – Huntington and retired from the printing business after more than 40 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a Navy veteran of WWII, serving with the Seabees. He was a musician and played trumpet in a band with his brother, Clifford. He was an artist and enjoyed drawing Disney characters. He was also athletic and enjoyed playing basketball and football.
Survivors include his companion of more than 30 years, Tazuko Artemik; his five children: Mike; Sherry Zuniga and Kathy Campbell-Wilson, both of Auburndale, FL; Cindy of Longwood and Donald Campbell of Winter Springs; and seven grandchildren: Wm. Troy Cochran, Brialore, Morrea, Eric, Michael Campbell, Monique Williams and Sarah Wilson; and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 12:45 PM on Tues., Nov. 13, 2007 at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Vitas Hospice of Broward, 7800 Sheridan Street Pembroke Pines, FL 33024.
Such a short time to know you…but you certainly made it memorable. Especially the trips to Disney. Thank you for my famiy. Without you…I wouldn’t have them. See you again one day. Love you. Your Daughter-In-Law
Your Dad, Taz’s companion and our friend will always be remembered with all the love of life that he’s shown to others over many years.
