Sgt. Antonio Correa-Rodriguez, 77, of Kissimmee, FL passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Melech Hospice House under the care of LifePath Hospice and surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he retired as a VA Hospital Records Administrator in Manhattan, NY after many years. He served his country with distinction as an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict in the 65th Infantry Regiment of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard in 1954. He earned the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart in 1958 for “Wounds Received in Action Against the Enemy.” He was a member of the American Legion. He was known as a sharp dresser and enjoyed fine dining and dancing.
He his survived by his eldest daughter, Awilda Correa Lipfird; two sons, Antonio Correa, Jr. and youngest, Nelson Correa; three sisters, Lilly, Inez, and Ana Correa; nine grandchildren, a great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was such a dear friend. We lost touch over the last couple of years. I met him at the VA hospital. He had such a great outlook on life. My family and I will miss him.
